From his earliest days as a member of the fabled Clean onward, singer/songwriter David Kilgour stood among the to the highest degree significant figures on the New Zealand pop out landscape. The death has been announced of one of Ireland's first off singer-songwriters, Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie Hennessy.

BBC backs down over Pogues classic



BBC Radio 1 has reversed its decision to censor the classic Pogues and Kirsty MacColl song 'Fairytale of New York'.
The station had decided to bleep come out the word "faggot up" from the vocal because it could be offence to listeners.
Only BBC 1 accountant Andy Parfitt said last night: "After careful consideration, I have decided that the decision to redact the Pogues song Fairy tale of Freshly House of York was wrongfulness."
Parfitt said that the song did not use the give-and-take with any "negative intent".

He said: "Wireless 1 does not play homophobic lyrics or excuse intimidation of any variety. It is non forever tardily to convey this right, mindful of our responsibility to our young consultation. The unedited version volition be played from nowadays on."
